Peas - Mutter Masala

I scored a bag of fresh shelled peas and decided to make this a mutter masala. Being in an adventurous mood, I decided to make this by roasting whole spices and making a ground paste. You could easily add potatoes or paneer to this dish.

700 gms peas (frozen or fresh)
2 large tomatoes pureed (place in boiling water till the skin splits,remove and puree)
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp garlic paste
1 small red onion chopped
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp coriander seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
3 – 4 dried red chilles
Chopped corriander for garnish

Heat a tsp of oil in a hot pan and dry roast the onion and all the dry spices. Remove and puree. Heat another 2 tbsps of oil. Fry the paste, followed by the tomato paste. Add the peas, salt and pepper and cover and cook for 15 mins.
