1 full chicken cut in small pieces(marinated overnight with lemon juice, salt and 2 tbsps of fresh ginger paste)
2 red onions quartered and sliced
2 dried red chillies
1 tbsp ginger and garlic paste
2 tomatoes finely chopped
4 tsps curry powder or (2 tsps turmeric, 1 tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp cumin powder)
1 cup of water
1/2 - 1 cup of table cream.
Salt and pepper
Oil
Heat the oil and fry the onions till golden brown. Add the red chillies and ginger garlic paste. Add the tomatoes and cook till it all forms a thick paste. Remove from heat and keep aside. In the same saute pan, saute the chicken till it turns a nice golden hue, then add the paste back in. Cook for a few minutes scraping the pan constantly. Then add a cup of water, cover and cook for about 20 mins. Be sure to stir the pan at intervals so the gravy does not burn. Remove the lid and keep cooking allowing the gravy to thicken. Add the cream and stir!
