Half Pops Chicken Strips


Thinking outside of the bag, chicken strips are given a new life with a package of Half Pops that are crushed in a mortar and pestle. This gives the chicken strips a great crunch!

Ingredients
1 chicken breast, butterflied and cut into 6 strips
1 egg beaten
1/2 cup butter milk
1/2 cup flour
salt, pepper
1 tsp smoked paprika
oil for frying

Process
Lay the strips of chicken in a dish, sprinkle with salt, pepper and paprika and mix well

Add the buttermilk and marinate for 30 mins

Place a bag of Half Pops in a bag and crush it in a mortar and pestle

In one plate add the flour with some salt

In another plate add the beaten egg

In the third plate, add the crushed Half Pops

Drain all the chicken from it's marinade

Dredge the strips both sides in flour, then dip in egg and drain.

Dredge one side in the crushed Half Pops and place in an oiled pan face down for about 3 minutes

Flip, cook for another 3- 4 minutes and then place all the strips on a tray and add to a hot oven

It's important to ensure that chicken is cooked all the way through

Serve with ketchup or any other condiment of your choice
